Olkeju Mara Tours started in 2012 with one Land Cruiser and a small group of Maasai guides who had spent their whole lives reading these plains. Today we are still small by design — every trip is led by someone who grew up here, not a script written somewhere else.
"Olkeju" means river in Maa — a nod to the Mara River that shapes everything that happens on this land, from the Migration to the way our grandparents told time.

Our guides, cooks, and camp staff are Maasai community members — not contractors brought in from Nairobi. Tourism money stays here.
We follow strict distance and noise guidelines, even when it means a quieter photo. The animals were here long before us.

Coordinates every booking and logistics detail. Born and raised near the reserve.
Has tracked the wildebeest migration for 14 consecutive seasons. Knows the Mara River crossings better than anyone.
Leads all Maasai village visits and cultural programmes. Beadwork artist and community liaison.
15 years cooking for safari camps. Trained in Nairobi, returned home to cook for our guests.
KPSGA certified. Specialist in bird identification and off-road driving in the conservancies.
